Who Is She?
Mont’ique Pettway-Moore is a groundbreaking leader, community advocate, and visionary committed to empowering others to rise in leadership, faith, and purpose. She made history as the first woman to achieve the rank of Fire Captain in her fire department’s 100-year history, where she oversees EMS, safety, and infectious disease control while spearheading training, recruitment, and community outreach initiatives.
Beyond the firehouse, Mont’ique is a ministry leader, mentor, and the founder of She Ascends, a dynamic empowerment program for young women that fosters confidence, leadership, and self-worth. She is also the driving force behind The Lead Firm, her consulting agency dedicated to helping leaders and organizations strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and inspire excellence.
A passionate advocate for the underserved, Mont’ique has led initiatives addressing homelessness, supported expecting mothers through nonprofit outreach, and built programs to prepare the next generation of leaders — from aspiring EMTs to emerging entrepreneurs. She is the author and voice behind Lead Sis, Lead, a movement and upcoming book "The Leadership Toolbox".
Known for her integrity, compassion, and unshakable commitment to excellence, Mont’ique blends wisdom with warmth, truth with tenderness, and vision with action. Whether in uniform, behind the podium, or in the community, she leads in a way that shifts atmospheres and leaves a lasting impact.
